Daphne S.

General Manager

Daphne is the dedicated General Manager at Paw Commons with 5 years of experience with the company. Her journey into pet care began in 2018 when she rescued her first dog, Nala. After training Nala and helping her overcome multiple health challenges — including hip dysplasia and arthritis — Daphne discovered her true passion for working with animals and shifted her career focus from graphic design to pet care.

Since joining Paw Commons, Daphne has become known for her calm leadership, compassionate approach, and deep dedication to every animal that comes through the doors. She loves working with Huskies and other working breeds, admiring their loyalty, energy, and intelligence. Daphne believes that with the right environment and care, even the most misunderstood breeds can thrive — a philosophy that guides her management style and client relationships.

Her favorite part of her job is connecting with both clients and their pets. Daphne enjoys seeing dogs grow from playful puppies into confident adults, often forming special bonds through one-on-one playtime sessions. She takes pride in helping nervous or first-time boarders feel comfortable, often relying on patience, gentle reassurance, and even a good hug to calm anxious pups.

As a leader, Daphne is known for her strong communication and problem-solving skills. She supports her team by listening actively, prioritizing tasks, and fostering an environment of care and accountability. Over the years, she has trained many Paw Commons team members in pet care operations, setting the standard for quality and professionalism across her location.

For pet parents, Daphne provides trust and transparency at every step. She reassures clients with regular report cards, webcam access, and open communication — even offering her business card for direct contact. Whether through daily check-ins or taking time to explain a dog’s routine, Daphne ensures every family feels confident their pet is in safe and loving hands.

Outside of work, Daphne enjoys spending time with her family and her four beloved pets — dogs Nala, Keika, and Ryu, and her cat Ka-hau. Her home is filled with energy, laughter, and plenty of love. When she’s not managing operations or caring for animals, Daphne enjoys family activities and working on puzzles. Her unwavering dedication, empathy, and leadership make her an invaluable part of the Paw Commons family.

Jazmin R.

Groomer

Jazmin is a Certified Groomer at Paw Commons with an impressive 12 years of experience in Pet Care and over 5 years specializing in grooming. Her deep love for animals began in childhood, surrounded by pets that sparked her lifelong passion for caring for and beautifying dogs. After exploring her creativity through self-taught grooming techniques, including studying online resources and hands-on practice, Jazmin discovered her true calling — helping dogs look and feel their best.

Throughout her career, Jazmin has worked with a wide variety of breeds and sizes, though she has a soft spot for Yorkies and Doodles. She especially enjoys crafting signature haircuts and seeing the joyful reactions of pet parents when they pick up their freshly styled pups. For Jazmin, grooming isn’t just a job — it’s an art form and a way to strengthen the bond between pets and their families.

As a former Grooming Manager, Jazmin has trained and mentored countless bathers, teaching them proper washing techniques and the importance of patience and care in every step of the grooming process. She approaches each pet with empathy and respect, taking time to move slowly, build trust, and comfort nervous dogs with gentle affection. Her ability to sense when a dog needs reassurance or a break reflects her intuitive, compassionate style of grooming.

Jazmin’s favorite part of her job is transforming dogs’ appearances while keeping them comfortable and happy. She believes grooming should be a positive, stress-free experience for every pet. For nervous clients, Jazmin takes the time to communicate clearly, offering updates, photos, and reassurance that their furry loved ones are in caring hands.

At home, Jazmin’s love for animals extends far beyond work. She shares her life with four dogs, two cats, and one foster dog with special needs — each with their own unique personalities. From her tiny Yorkie Lola, the fearless “alpha” of the pack, to Doozy, her resilient foster dog with cerebellar hypoplasia, every animal in her care receives the same patience, love, and devotion she brings to the salon.

When she’s not grooming, Jazmin enjoys spending quality time with her wife and daughter, tending to her garden, and collecting plants. Her nurturing nature, years of hands-on experience, and dedication to every pet’s comfort make Jazmin an invaluable part of the Paw Commons grooming team.

Kale C.

Groomer

Kale joined the Paw Commons team three months ago, bringing with her six years of hands-on experience in the pet care industry. Her journey began at just 18 years old when she started volunteering with the Humane Society and fostering animals in need. From that moment on, Kale knew her passion for helping animals would guide her career path.

Over the years, Kale has worked across multiple areas of pet care, including two years in boarding, daycare, and training, a few months assisting in a veterinary office, and four years of bathing and grooming experience. She has worked with dogs of all breeds, ages, and special needs but especially enjoys grooming Bedlington Terriers for their unique and rewarding coat styles. For Kale, learning to groom has been one of the most fulfilling experiences of her life—seeing the love people have for their pets and helping new pet parents understand their animal’s needs brings her daily joy.

Kale is AKC Safety Certified and has also completed a Pet CPR course. Her approach to grooming focuses on patience, understanding, and empathy—recognizing that when dogs act out, they are often just scared or unsure. By taking it slow, reading their body language, and communicating calmly, she helps each pet feel safe and comfortable throughout the grooming process.

Within the salon, Kale supports her teammates by maintaining a positive and balanced atmosphere, helping others when needed, and stepping in to finish a dog or give a coworker a well-deserved break. She loves how driven everyone at Paw Commons is to ensure every pet receives loving, attentive care, even those who may need a little extra patience.

Outside of work, Kale shares her life with her beagle-chihuahua mix, Winnie—named after the Mini-Winnie camper—and her orange tabby cat, Chowder, who loves joining the family on hikes and camping trips. In her free time, Kale enjoys snowboarding, camping, hiking, and spending time in nature. Whether she’s in the mountains or by the ocean, she embraces every opportunity to explore and recharge.

A true animal lover at heart, Kale is passionate about lifelong learning and plans to continue working with animals for the rest of her life. Known as a “walking dog encyclopedia,” she can identify nearly any breed and even most mixed breeds at a glance. Her deep knowledge, calm demeanor, and dedication to animal care make her a trusted and valued member of the Paw Commons grooming team.
